Wee Ball Info

 

Wee Ball runs from 10-11am at the fields between Seth Haley School and 121 Contact Drive.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to find your team!

 

No parking on the grass by the field house or on the field side of the street on Contact Drive.

 

Clinic/Practice Example (1st Week):

  • Introductions & Warm-up - 5-10 min
  • Hitting Instruction & Tee Work - 10-15 min
  • Throwing Instruction & Game (examples: Get it in the Bucket or Longest Throw competition) - 10-15 min
  • Fielding Instruction into Fielding and throwing to a base - 10-15 min
  • Final Game or Activity (examples: Running the bases and saying their names or Hitting off the tee and running the bases) - 10-15 min
  • Closing & Review - 5-10 min

Game with Clinic Example (Last 5 Weeks):

  • Two teams will meet on one field
  • Half of each team will play an inning of a Tee Ball game
  • During the first game, half of each team will take part in drills similar to the clinic style stations
  • After the first inning, the teams will switch
  • Each player will play an inning of a Tee Ball game and get in skill work at the stations

Please bring: a baseball glove, athletic shoes, and a water bottle,  Baseball pants are optional; as long as they wear athletic pants. The league supplies a team shirt and league hat.  Please do not bring your own bat or ball.  We use a padded bat and soft baseball, which each team will have.

 

Volunteer/Parent Involvement Note: Wee Ball is very "hands on" and parent involvement is key to the success of each clinic/practice.  If willing and able, some parents may be asked to help run a station/skill here and there.  More help, the better!
