About the SHORE HAVEN JR BASEBALL

"Shore Haven Jr Baseball is our little slice of Baseball Heaven"

Shore Haven Jr. Baseball's History

Shore Haven Jr. Baseball League was founded in 1954 by The West Shore Association.
The founding fathers of the League were, Marshall Beott, Paul Saldibar, John Davison, Ted Roman, Elmer Bisonette, Richard Reising, Leslie Friend, John Cummings, Herb Small & William Brennan. This league was organized for boys that did not qualify for West Haven Little League due to the limited number of teams.  The purpose of the league was to give boys a chance to play the game of baseball regardless of their abilities.  As the years went on and the popularity of baseball grew, Shore Haven also grew.  It became a place for both boys and girls to play baseball and softball.
 Today Shore Haven has

T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Soft-Ball and Senior Level Teams.

Shore Haven Jr. Baseball's Philosophy

Shore Haven  Jr. Baseball League’s Philosophy is to make sure every kids has fun.

Fun is all about the basic enjoyment of just playing the game. Baseball is our National Pastime, and we believe that every kid who shows an interest, should have the opportunity to learn how to play the National Pastime. This League is not about becoming the biggest or the best, or about making it to a national level tournament. It is about kids playing ball no matter what their ability level may be.  It is about relationship building, fostering team participation & team spirit, and working together as a unit. Most importantly we teach the fundamentals of this game and what sportsmanship is all about. It is not whether you loose or win, but how the game is played.

In the movie "Fields of Dreams", James Earl Jones character Terence Mann states, Baseball is the

one Constant in life”.  When  Spring Season rolls around, Shore Haven Jr Baseball becomes the "Fields of Dreams" for all the boys & girls who play. Shore Haven Jr. Baseball is the one

"Constant in life" for all who participate on our League.

Shore Haven Jr. Baseball’s Commitment

The Shore Haven Jr. Baseball was built on time, effort and dedication of men & women volunteering each year, starting in January and finishing up every September. The Staff and Coaches volunteer their time because they are committed to each child and feel that each child is worth every moment of their time. These men and women believe that every child should have fun, play with respect, and no matter if they loose or win, the most important thing is

 “How you play the Game”
